デスクトップ常駐メモアプリ「notti」の設計構想とミニマルな情報整理

現在 chaco では、デスクトップ常駐型ユーティリティの第 3 弾として、軽量メモ・ノートアプリケーション「notti（ノッチ）」の設計および開発を進めています。時計（Chronocci）、カレンダー（Calendini）に続き、「作業中の思考の一時退避と即時メモ」を担うモジュールとしての設計方針を解説します。

1. なぜ既存のメモツールでは不足するのか

今日、数多くの高機能ノートツールやクラウドメモサービスが存在します。しかし、作業中に「電話口のメモを取る」「ふと思いついたアイデアを一行書き残す」「クリップボードのテキストを一時退避させる」といった瞬間的な動作において、既存のツールには以下の課題がありました。

起動速度の遅さ: クラウド連携やデータベース同期を伴うツールは、ウィンドウが表示されるまでに数秒を要し、思考の速度に追いつきません。
階層構造への強制: フォルダ分け、タグ付け、ワークスペース選択といった管理コストが、メモを取る行為そのものの障壁になります。
画面占有の大きさ: メモ帳を開くたびに他の作業ウィンドウが隠れてしまい、参照しながらの入力が阻害されます。

2. notti が採用する 4 つの基本仕様

notti は「白紙のメモ帳が常にデスクトップの片隅に置かれている」体験をデジタル上に再構築することを目指しています。

1. 0.1秒の起動とグローバルショートカット

WinUI 3 による軽量ネイティブ実装により、バックグラウンド待機状態からショートカット一発で瞬時にフォーカス。入力完了後は即座に背景へ退避します。

2. プレーンテキスト＆軽量 Markdown 準拠

プロプライエタリな独自バイナリ形式を排し、標準的なプレーンテキストおよび Markdown フォーマットを採用。他のエディタや外部ツールとの互換性を完全に保ちます。

3. ローカル完全完結・ゼロクラウド

作成されたメモファイルは利用者のローカルストレージ（特定のローカルフォルダ）にそのまま保存されます。プライベートな思考や機密情報が外部サーバーへ送信されることはありません。

4. デスクトップ調和とグラスモーフィズム

Chronocci や Calendini と統一されたデザイン哲学に基づき、デスクトップ壁紙に溶け込むすりガラス透過 UI を採用。画面の隅に常にピン留めして表示し続けることが可能です。

3. 開発ロードマップ

notti は現在内部プロトタイプ開発を進めており、Windows 10 / 11 向けに Microsoft Store 経由での配布を予定しています。正式リリースのアナウンスは、本ポータルサイトおよび GitHub リポジトリにて順次公開いたします。

chaco is currently developing "notti"—the third entry in our ambient Windows desktop utility suite. Following our clock (Chronocci) and calendar (Calendini), notti provides an ambient canvas for instant capture and fleeting thought offloading.

While powerful cloud note apps abound, capturing rapid moments—a quick phone number, a code snippet, or a fleeting architectural insight—frequently stumbles upon friction:

Sluggish Startup: Cloud sync and database backends take seconds to display a prompt, extinguishing fragile focus.
Forced Categorization: Requiring folder selections, tags, or notebook hierarchies before you can type creates cognitive resistance.
Window Obstruction: Full-sized editor windows block your current workspace, interrupting visual reference.

Native WinUI 3 architecture enables instantaneous summoning from background sleep with a single keyboard shortcut.

2. Plain Text & Lightweight Markdown

No proprietary lock-in. All notes are saved in pure plain text or Markdown (.md), ensuring zero-effort interoperability with your favorite editor.

3. Strictly Local — Zero Cloud Relay

Files remain strictly on your local disk. Private thoughts and confidential work credentials are never transmitted over external servers.

4. Ambient Glassmorphism

Frosted acrylic glass aesthetic harmonized with Chronocci and Calendini. Pin it unobtrusively in the screen corner to stay in flow.

3. Development Roadmap

notti is currently undergoing internal prototyping with distribution planned via Microsoft Store for Windows 10 & 11. Announcements will be posted on this portal and our GitHub repository.
